Ven Madihe Pannasiha Thero
Madihe Pannaseeha Thero (June 21, 1913 – September 9, 2003) was a famous Sri Lankan Buddhist monk, who was the head of Amarapura faction from July 13, 1969 until his demise on September 9, 2003.
Madihe Pannaseeha Nayaka Thero was born on June 21, 1913 in
the town called Madihe in Matara region, as the most youthful in a group of
five. His lay name was Benson Wilmot. Benson Wilmot had his education in the
English medium at St.Thomas' College, Matara and later at Mahinda College,
Galle. At 13 years old years he entered the Buddhist Order. His appointment was
held at Devagiri Vihara, Kabmurugamuwa, on June 24, 1926.
He was named 'Madihe Pannasheeha' at the appointment.Maha Nayaka Thera visited China
in 1946 for the spread of Theravada Buddhism. Thero also visited Kathmandu in
Nepal for a higher appointment of Bhikahkus in 1951 and in 1954 to set up a
Seema Malaka in Lalith Pura, Nepal and he renamed the Buddhist Vihara there
from "Youthful Sumangala Vihara" to "Sri Sumangala
Vihara".
Thero was presented a
privileged Ph.D. from the University of Peradeniya in 1987, and got the
honorific title Agga Maha Pandita from Burma in the year 1996. Thero died on
September 9, 2003 at 90 years old.

Ven Balangoda Ananda Maitreya Thero.
Balangoda
Ananda Maitreya Thero (23 August 1896 – 18 July 1998) was a Sri Lankan scholar
Buddhist monk. He was highly respected by Sri Lankan Buddhists, who believe
that he achieved a higher level of spiritual development through meditation.Sri
Lankan Buddhists also considered Balangoda Ananda Maitreya Thero as a
Bodhisattva, who will attain Buddhahood in a future life. Balangoda Ananda
Maitreya Thero lived a modest life and did a great service for the propagation
of Buddhist philosophy. In recognition of his valuable service at the Sixth
Buddhist council held in Burma, the Burmese government conferred on him the
title "Agga Mahapandita" (Chief Great Scholar) in 1956. Later in
March 1997, the Burmese government conferred on Balangoda Ananda Maitreya Thero
the highest Sangha title, "Abhidhaja Maharatthaguru" (Most Eminent
Great Spiritual Teacher), which is equivalent to Sangharaja, in honor of his
unique service to the Buddhist
religion.

Ven Narada Maha Thera
The Venerable Narada Maha Thera , born Sumanapala Perera (14 July 1898 – 2 October 1983) was a Theravadan Buddhist monk and translator, the Superior of Vajirarama Temple in Colombo. He was a popular figure in his native country, Sri Lanka, and beyond.

Ven Walpola Rahula Thero.
Walpola Rahula (1907–1997) was a Sri Lankan Buddhist monk, researcher and essayist. In 1964, he turned into the Professor of History and Religions at Northwestern University, therefore becoming the first bhikkhu to hold a scholarly seat in the Western world. He likewise once held the position of Vice-Chancellor at the then Vidyodaya University (as of now known as the University of Sri Jayewardenepura). He has composed broadly about Buddhism in English, French and Sinhalese.
He was born in 1907 at Walpola, a little town in southern Sri Lanka. At thirteen, he entered the Sangha. His instruction secured Sinhala, Pali, Sanskrit, Buddhism, history and rationality. He learned at the Vidyalankara Pirivena and at the University of Ceylon.
